CONFERENCE & SPONSORSHIP

Q: IMCD Group and Integrity BioChem are sponsoring and participating in Cleaning Products Europe 2026. What makes this event particularly valuable for you, and what conversations are you most looking forward to having in Amsterdam?

This event is particularly valuable for us because it brings together the full industry, from raw material manufacturers and formulators to brand owners, allowing us to stay updated with what is happening in home care and I&I industry. Cleaning Products Europe creates a platform for us to showcase new cutting edge, sustainable technologies and introduce new product lines. For IMCD and Integrity BioChem, this event is not only about visibility, but meaningful connections with possible new partners.

COMPANY PERSPECTIVES

Q: IMCD Group operates at the intersection of formulation expertise, market insight, and supplier partnerships. How does this position enable IMCD to support customers navigating rapid change in the home care and HI&I markets?

IMCD is positioned exactly at the interfaces mentioned, which provides full visibility of emerging chemistries, technologies, and evolving market requirements. Combined with our technical expertise and formulation know-how, this allows us to accelerate knowledge transfer to our customers and actively support them in developing competitive and compliant formulation solutions.

At the same time, we channel our customers’ needs and concerns back to our principal partners, helping to shape innovations that are truly relevant and impactful for the market.

Q: Integrity BioChem has been a strong advocate for bio-based surfactants in home care and industrial applications. What differentiates Integrity’s technology approach, and where are you seeing the strongest customer interest today?

A limiting factor with many new technologies is that it takes years or even decades to scale to the point where they can be broadly adopted. From the invention of its bio-based surfactants, Integrity BioChem’s approach has been centred on scalability and performance in order to avoid that constraint.

The strongest customer interest today is in products that have multifunctional formulation benefits, are cost-effective, and can optimize or improve existing formulation components. What differentiates our technology platform from the rest of the industry is that our products are thoughtfully produced to remove barriers in formulation. Our products are non-irritating, high-performing, affordable, and can replace many popular controversial materials. As a result, our customers gain a solution that is renewable, effective, and commercially scalable from day one, without having to choose between sustainability and supply reliability.

Q: Integrity BioChem and IMCD Group work closely together to bring solutions to market. How do partnerships like this accelerate innovation and adoption for formulators and brand owners?

Integrity BioChem’s philosophy is to find and partner with market leaders who share a strong technical focus and customer proximity. The partnership between Integrity BioChem and IMCD ensures that new technologies are supported by solid application knowledge and practical guidance. This helps formulators and brand owners clearly understand how the product works, how it performs in formulations, and how it can be successfully positioned in the market.

MARKET TRENDS & INDUSTRY CHALLENGES

Q: Sustainability expectations continue to rise, but performance and cost pressures remain intense. How are you seeing formulators balance these demands in today’s home care and HI&I market?

The way formulators balance these demands strongly depends on their brand positioning and target segment. Some formulators focus more into balancing price and performance, and some will not compromise on sustainability aspects while keeping performance as high as possible.

Overall, the market is moving toward formulation strategies to unlock both cost, performance, and sustainability. The key is not choosing between performance, cost, and sustainability, but finding innovative ways to align all three.

Q: Bio-based and renewable surfactants have moved from niche to mainstream conversation. What do you see as the biggest remaining technical or commercial barriers to broader adoption?

Historically, the biggest obstacles for these chemistries have been availability and affordability. Many bio-based surfactants showed strong technical potential but struggled to reach the scale and cost structure required for broad market adoption.

At Integrity BioChem, our focus has always been on overcoming these barriers, by developing technologies that create affordable, sustainable products that enable wider adoption across the industry.

LOOKING AHEAD

Q: Looking toward the next 3–5 years, what major trends—technical, regulatory, or consumer-driven—do you believe will have the greatest impact on home care and HI&I formulations?

From a consumer perspective, much will depend on how the economic situation evolves in the coming years. We have clearly seen a shift toward private labels, with brands fighting to defend their market shares. Price pressure is not necessarily favorable to innovation. Nevertheless, there is still strong momentum around innovative formats and increasing convenience in use, which continue to drive differentiation.

On the regulatory side, changes to the EU Ecolabel, potential regulations governing sustainability claims, and further developments within REACH will have a direct impact on formulations. In the HI&I industry in particular, innovation is highly regulatory driven, meaning compliance requirements will continue to shape ingredient selection and product development strategies.

Q: For delegates attending Cleaning Products Europe, what key takeaway or mindset would you encourage them to bring back to their teams after the event?

Innovation is accelerating, giving formulators a unique opportunity to shape the future of the industry. As the market evolves at an unprecedented pace, those who act proactively will position themselves ahead of the curve.

Attending this conference reinforces a powerful message: embracing innovative ingredients is not just a trend, but a meaningful pathway to growth and differentiation in an increasingly competitive landscape. By attending this conference and discovering our product line, we aim to inspire confidence that sustainable solutions can deliver high performance and that formulators can access affordable, sustainable raw materials that drive both innovation and commercial success.

TEGRASURF96

Q: Your presentation highlights TegraSurf 96 in sustainable and effective laundry detergents. What excites you most about this technology and its potential impact on the market?

What excites us most about TegraSurf 96 is the combination of three critical attributes: renewability, effectiveness, and scalability. Consumers are increasingly interested in renewable solutions, but they are not willing to sacrifice cleaning performance, and TegraSurf delivers on both expectations. Equally important is our ability to produce it at volumes that enable rapid market adoption.

By combining renewability, strong performance, and scalable manufacturing, TegraSurf 96 has the potential to make more sustainable laundry formulations both practical and commercially viable.

Q: Sustainability in home care now includes environmental, social, and economic considerations. How does Integrity BioChem approach balancing these “three pillars” when developing new surfactants?

At Integrity BioChem, we approach sustainability by designing technologies that balance environmental responsibility, economic viability, and social impact from the outset. Environmentally, we upcycle an underutilized co-product from the food industry into high-performance bio-based surfactants, reducing waste while lowering reliance on fossil resources. Economically, our products are designed to be cost-effective and scalable, ensuring sustainability is practical for widespread adoption. Socially, we prioritize low irritation and user safety, developing ingredients that are effective yet gentle for both consumers and workers. By addressing all three pillars together, we create solutions that are truly sustainable.

Q: Many formulators are looking for solutions that combine performance with eco-credentials. Without revealing proprietary data, what can you share about the types of benefits TegraSurf 96 brings to laundry formulations?

TegraSurf 96 brings a unique combination of high cleaning performance and renewable content to laundry formulations. It enhances detergent effectiveness while supporting sustainability goals, allowing brands to meet consumer demand for more sustainable products. In addition, it is designed for easy integration into existing formulations, offering a practical, scalable solution for formulators seeking both performance and environmental responsibility.
