Working for the cleaning and detergent industry for more than 10 years in various roles. I am holding a bachelors degree in industrial engineering and a masters degree in business and management. Within SGS, i am responsible for business development and sales within the detergent department.
Paul Richter is the Head of Regulatory Affair and Product Compliances at Midea Europe GmbH. Paul holds a PhD in Home Economics and Nutrition Science from the University of Bonn, Germany. He has 20 years of experience with the home appliance industry focusing on consumer science and standardisation. Paul has been leading development teams for different product categories, including household dishwashers and other kitchen appliances. He currently serves as Chairperson on IEC level (SC59A Dishwasher) and in the European Standardisation (Cenelec TC59X Home Appliances).
Philippe studied in France where he still lives. He has a biochemistry and chemistry education background.
Currently he is in charge of the formulation development for the liquid products division. Previously he worked in different industries, professional disinfection, personal care and as a fragrance supplier in different countries France, Luxembourg, Belgium, South Africa. He has been working with McBride for 16 years.
He is part of the initiators of the sustainability program at McBride, running carbon footprint analysis and corporate education program on sustainability.
Filip has a background in business psychology and has started to specialize in home care as the industry project lead and as Consultant for home and technology industries at Euromonitor. He provides analysis on trends and developments, with special emphasis on broader consumer trends and areas where home care overlaps with other industries. This big picture view helps clients to learn about opportunities and threats, and to take informed strategic decisions.
I graduated from Bosphorus University Chemistry departmant in 2001. Then I did my PHD in Organic Chemistry from University of Akron USA and work as a post-doctoral research assistant at Penn State University. Afterward I worked in R&D in different sectors like polmyer industry and FMCG for almost 20 years. Currently I am the R&D Director at Hayat for Homecare sector for 4 years.
Maria is the Senior Director of Dish R&D in Europe at P&G, where she leads the design and innovation of Fairy Autodish and Hand Dish products, focusing on maximizing consumer delight while minimizing environmental impact. With 26 years at P&G, Maria has held various roles related to product design, contributing significantly to sustainability and consumer engagement. Maria earned her PhD in Chemical Engineering at Rice University in Houston (US) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at MIT. Outside of her professional achievements, Maria is a devoted mother to two daughters and believes that partnerships hold the key to unlocking new insights and fostering innovation on a daily basis.
3. Presentation title: Changing consumer dishwashing habits and choices, and their sustainability implications.

Mauro Davanzo is a chemist with 25 years of experience in different sectors, among which Cleaning and Hygiene from different perspectives. The most relevant experiences have been with Reckitt, AkzoNobel, IFF, and Vileda.
He has always been interested in the consumer science and to innovative solutions which can improve the life at home
Dirk Develter, MSc biologist, graduated from State University of Ghent in 1985. After a postgraduate in Environmental Sanitation he worked for the Flemish Institute of nature conservation. In 1991 he moved to the research and development department of Ecover Belgium which he headed for 2O years. His current role is developing better materials through industrial partnerships. He published and presented at various conferences on glycolipids and issued 6 patent applications. His pioneering sophorolipid work resulted in 2010 in a finalist nomination for the European Business Awards for the Environment in green innovation in the process category.
Andre Chieffi is the Senior Manager of the Surface Science Platform at Reckitt. His team works on the development of new technologies across the Reckitt’s hygiene business including the mega brands Lysol, Finish, Vanish, Harpic and others.
Before joining Reckitt in 2020, Andre did a BSc and PhD in Chemistry (University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and University of Waterloo, Canada), a postdoc in catalysis (MIT, USA) and worked for almost 20 years at P&G (R&D centers in the UK, Mexico and Brazil). As result, he has experience in several R&D areas, including surfactants, polymers, enzymes, bleach, antimicrobials, encapsulation, active delivery and catalysis.
Neal Sorokin has over 20 years’ experience in the regulatory and safety fields. Neal gained his PhD in 2007 (University of Reading, UK) and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology in the UK. Following research work at the University of London and then 6 years as a consultant in the UK, Neal joined Reckitt in 2007. Over the past 15 years he has held various roles in the regulatory and safety departments at Reckitt, supporting the Health and Hygiene businesses and working in various locations including the UK, Italy, and the USA. He is currently the Global Head of Regulatory for Innovation within Reckitt’s Hygiene Business, based in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
